The St. Joseph’s IceCaps announced Tuesday that they have agreed to terms with defenseman John Stromie.
The 24-year-old Stromies contract includes a one-year, $3.25 million entry-level deal, the club announced.
Stromiel will be assigned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Stromieme is in his third season with the IceCapes.
“We are very pleased to welcome John to our organization,” St. Joe’s general manager John Legere said in a statement.
“John has been a productive member of our team and we look forward to having him on our ice for a number of years.”
Stromiel was a key piece for the St. George Saints last season, scoring 17 goals and 45 points.
He led all NHL defensemen with 55 penalty minutes.
Strome was a finalist for the NHL’s Hart Trophy in 2017-18.
