The USA Rugby has signed a logistics deal for the 2018 World Cup in the Philippines, the Rugby Football Union has confirmed.
The deal, which was revealed at the Rugby Championship in Canberra, is worth $1.5 million per annum and will see USA Rugby team logistics for the 2019 Rugby World Cup logistics contract with ABL Logistics.
The logistics deal is the culmination of a successful relationship between USA Rugby and ABL, which has helped USA Rugby reach record attendance figures at the tournament.AABL will provide logistics for a number of USA Rugby home and away matches and will also provide the logistics for some other events.AUSA Rugby will also operate a hotel for the tournament in Manila.ABL Logistic will provide logistical support to USA Rugby during the 2019 World Cup, which will take place from March 23-25.
The USA Rugby website also confirmed the logistics deal.
The Rugby Championship was held in Canberra from March 21 to 22 and the USA Rugby World Rugby Board of Directors met to discuss logistics arrangements for the Rugby World Challenge.
The finalised agreement between USA and ABF, the organisation running the tournament, is expected to be signed off this week.ABF has been the sole logistics provider for USA Rugby since the Rugby Challenge in February 2018, with logistics to take place at the venues and venues on the ground.
