A spreadsheet has helped planners and developers predict where construction would take place on the rail line.
A new report from the Department of Infrastructure and Communities (DIC) says it’s the biggest ever attempt to use data to predict future projects and the new model is a huge step forward.
In the coming weeks, DIC is releasing its report, the Canadian Projectivity Report, to the public.
The report is an effort to inform public debate and provide a better understanding of what’s happening in the real world, said DIC spokesperson Stephanie Coats.
“It’s a big step forward for the country’s infrastructure planners and engineers,” she said.
“They have now been able to quantify the impact of future construction projects on the environment, on local economies, and on the health of our communities.”
The project will have many benefits to Canada’s economy, as well as to the communities that it serves.” “
This is just the beginning.
The project will have many benefits to Canada’s economy, as well as to the communities that it serves.”
The report focuses on three key areas: infrastructure, planning and economic development.
It examines how a project might affect the environment; how it might affect local economies; and how it may affect the health and wellbeing of Canadians.
“A project that is planned in Canada, and that is connected to Canada and our economy, will generate a significant positive effect on our environment, as it will increase the use of natural resources, as the Canadian resource sector continues to grow,” said the report, which also outlines how each project would impact the economy.
“For example, an expansion of the railway could result in higher levels of freight traffic and greater employment opportunities for Canadians.”
While the report is still in the design stage, the government’s new website and social media efforts are already helping the public get a better idea of what the next phase of construction will look like.
The government’s website is now highlighting projects that have already been identified for construction in Canada and their impact on the Canadian economy.
It is also sharing information about the Canadian rail network with its citizens via its website, and posting the first updates on the train line’s construction progress.
In an update on its social media page, the department says it has a number of updates planned to help Canadians better understand the projects and their impacts on the country.
“As construction gets underway, it’s important to remember that the public has already had a say in what projects the federal government is building,” said spokesperson Stephanie Gaudette.
“We have also seen that Canadians are engaged in their government’s projects and that this engagement can be very useful in influencing the decisions of their elected representatives.”
We are also taking a more strategic approach to how we share our knowledge on the future of our infrastructure and to what extent Canadians can access this information on our website,” she added.
“Together, we are making this information more accessible and engaging.” “
The map is part of our ongoing effort to build a more integrated public conversation about our infrastructure,” said Dic’s co-chair, Minister of Infrastructure Rob Nicholson.
“Together, we are making this information more accessible and engaging.”
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2019, but the first phase of the line is currently being designed.
The train line is scheduled for completion in 2021, but will be extended through 2021.
