CAPITAL CITY, Texas — Blue Grace will add capstones logistics to its operations, joining the logistics company as it expands its business to support its growing global footprint.
Blue Grace, a Texas-based logistics company with operations in the United States and Canada, announced Thursday it will be expanding its business beyond its core business of providing goods to the shipping and warehousing industry to include logistics services.
The announcement came after Blue Grace announced it had hired the chief executive officer of Capstone, a logistics company based in Austin, Texas.
The Capstone company, which is part of Blue Grace’s parent company, BlueGrace Group, is part-owned by the United Kingdom-based Blue Grace Holdings Group.
BlueGrace will provide logistics services to the U.S. and Canada.
Blue Grace is a global logistics company, providing a variety of products to the United Nations, the European Union, Japan, China and South Korea, among others.
Bluegrass Group, which also owns other logistics companies, will add Capstone to its services group in a process that is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2018, the company said.
Capstone was founded in 1999 and has expanded into logistics and logistics services globally.
The company has approximately 10,000 full-time employees, including some 1,000 in the U, according to its website.
Blue Grass said the Capstone Group will be responsible for all operational and support functions for the new business.
The expansion is expected over the next year and will include a new warehouse, processing and delivery center, a new office and an expansion of the existing logistics center, Blue Grace said.
BlueGess has been in the logistics business for more than 20 years and has more than 40 facilities around the world, according.
The company is one of the first to be recognized for being a leader in the global logistics sector.
BlueGracys first headquarters, a former military base in South Carolina, opened in the Bayou City in 2005.
The U.N. has designated Blue Grace a member of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a group of 16 Sustainable Development Goal-setting indicators aimed at achieving greater social, economic and environmental well-being across the globe.
